I started sewing and was interested in fashion from a young age, but being a fashion designer never seemed like an attainable goal.  I always paralleled it to being a Hollywood superstar.  Well I was quite wrong, and I found that with enough determination and ambition, you can make anything happen.  Working in the fashion industry is what I was meant to do.  I know this by the enjoyment I get out of doing this work; I even find the less glamorous tasks like lab dip approvals and technical sketching enjoyable and fun.  While I do love the design portion of the product development cycle, I realize that there is much more to producing a garment than just designing it, and I’m grateful that I find the other required tasks gratifying and challenging.

I do not overlook the opportunities that I’ve had to incorporate my experience and education in graphic design into my fashion design career.  It is quite frequent that I use this skill set not just for graphics projects, but for the fundamentals of fashion design.  My strong computer skills and my eye for good design have helped tremendously with my ability to create outstanding work in an efficient manner.

Outside of the time that designing absorbs, I spend a lot of time with my husband and my two terriers.  We enjoy swimming, riding around on our cruisers, and cooking “better than real meat” vegetarian meals.
